Mega block on CR, harbour line adds to commuter woes

Suburban services were completely shut between Kurla and Mankhurd on the Harbour line due to mega block for five hours. On the main line it was limited to the down fast corridor between Mulund and Matunga stations.

There was no block on Western railway as there had been a block on Saturday midnight. But as trains were running on the Sunday timetable, there was rush in trains.

“When I reached Vashi station, I found that trains were running till Mankhurd station only and that too at long intervals. So I took a bus to Dadar,” said RK Tambe, Ghansoli resident.

The BrihanMumbai Electric Supply and Transport undertaking had arranged special buses between Kurla and Vashi bus depot.
