MLAs Ram Kadam and Kshitij Thakur, arrested for assaulting traffic police sub-inspector Sachin Suryavanshi inside the Assembly premises, have been remanded in judicial custody till April 5.

The crime branch of the Mumbai police on Friday surrendered their custody, claiming that they could not complete the investigation as they didn't have the statement of the victim, who is currently recovering in a hospital. The MLAs have filed a common bail application, which will come up for hearing on Monday.
State legislators, meanwhile, stalled proceedings of both the Houses, demanding the suspension of senior police officers who had entered the Assembly premises on Thursday to arrest the MLAs accused in the case. They also demanded that the suspension of their five colleagues be revoked. Assembly Speaker Dilip Walse-Patil and home minister RR Patil maintained that the five MLAs were suspended after thorough investigation.
