A two-month art exhibition paying tribute to cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, titled Deconstructed Innings, will open at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) in Fort on December 18.
An initiative of Ten Art, a platform for bringing sport and art together, the exhibition will display artworks by 10 senior contemporary Indian artists -- Riyas Komu, Jagannath Panda, Anand Trilochand, Hema Upadhyay, Remen Chopra, Vibha Galhotra, Sunil Gawde, GR Iranna, Manjunath Kamath and Shreyas Karle.
"Deconstructed Innings is a patronage to both sport and art,” said Kiran Desai, co-curator of the show.
“The artists have collaborated with Sachin Tendulkar through a series of interactions to de-construct the innings of an icon and interpret the notions of legend and perfection associated with him, alongside his personal ideologies and history,” said Veerangana Solanki, co-curator of the show.
