Police said the footage will be closely studied to find the actual cause of the accident, which occurred on Wednesday.

The boy, Mohammad Hafeez Patel, and his family driver, 26-year-old Javed Ahmed, died when their sedan fell into a car lift shaft at Iqbal Heights building behind Maratha Mandir Cinema on Wednesday noon. Police said that while Ahmed was showing Patel how to drive, the boy may have accidentally stepped on the accelerator – causing the vehicle to crash into the lift at a high speed. “The lift door opened due to the force of the impact, and the car fell into the elevator duct,” said a police officer.

Both Patel and Ahmed were taken to the Wockhardt hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival. Police have registered an accident case.
