Mumbai: MSRTC to protect pay scale of reinstated HIV+ driver
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) today informed the Bombay high court that it will protect pay-scale of the driver who had been removed from service for being HIV positive.

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) on Friday informed the Bombay high court that it will protect pay-scale of the driver who had been removed from service for being HIV positive.
MSRTC counsel informed the high court that the formalities for reinstating the 41-year-old will be completed immediately after his medical report is received from Sassoon Hospital, Pune. The court had directed MSRTC to reinstate the driver and give him some other light duty, as recommended by Sassoon Hospital.
The resident of Bhor tehsil in Pune district has been suffering from HIV since more than five years. The state transport undertaking sacked him in May 2013, when he applied for some other light work in view of the ailment.
