Parts of the city and its suburbs received light showers bringing respite to Mumbaikars.

According to the Meteorological department, "the city received showers on Friday night. There will be partly cloudy sky with chances of light rain or thundershowers in some areas during the next 48 hours."
"The overcast cloud, cool wind and light rain or thundershower indicated only a local phenomenon," Deputy Director General of the Regional Met office R V Sharma said.
Sufficient thunderclouds are formed and the phenomenon may last upto 48 hours, he said.
Suburbs like Chembur and neighbouring Navi Mumbai also received light rains on Thursday night.
The hill station of Mahabaleshwar near Mumbai had recorded 0.1 mm of rainfall, the Met department said.
Maximum and minimum temperature recorded are 37 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees respectively.
