Their hope rests on their review petition against the SC order directing the BMC to demolish all unauthorised flats in the complex. The petition is pending with the apex court.

“We will file a curative petition even if the review judgment goes against us. The BMC can’t take action when legalities are in process,” said Rushabh Mutha, resident, Mid Town Apartments.

“We won’t let them demolish our homes. The fight will continue,” said Ajay Mehta, chairman, Mid town Apartments.

Othersalso said they would stand firm against the demolitions. “We are ready to pay for regularisation but can’t be evicted,” said V Srinivas, a resident.

On Tuesday, residents continued to hold discussions and protests regarding the demolition. “We will write to as many officials as possible,” said Bhuvnesh Chandra, resident of Midtown Apartments.

Residents have also turned to social media campaigns and an online petition to garner support.
