The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corpoation (BMC) has warned all mandals celebrating Navratri not to display any political hording or posters on the road or footpath during the festival.

The circular issued to all ward offices and signed by Municipal Commissioner Jairaj Phatak on September 9, instructed that because of model code of conduct, no mandal that will celebrate the festival should be allowed to display commercial advertisement on the roadside or pavements.
They can exhibit posters, banners with permission in their respective premises only, the circular said.
The festival will be starting from September 19 and will last for nine days.
The circular further said that the mandals would not be permitted to display posters, hoardings related to any of the political party, organisation or political personality. “If they fail to do so, their registration would be cancelled,” said RA Rajeev, Additional Municipal Commissioner.
The circular has been sent to all 24 assistant municipal commissioners and license inspectors in the city.
The civic body will charge concessional rate of Rs 125 to all mandals only for erecting pandal. However, they can display only commercial advertisement none other than the pandal premises.
