On display, Rs1.82 crore yacht

For three days, Mumbaiites can catch a glimpse of 78 Indian and international luxury boat brands at the 5th Mumbai International Boat Show at the Bandra-Kurla Complex.

For three days, Mumbaiites can catch a glimpse of 78 Indian and international luxury boat brands at the 5th Mumbai International Boat Show at the Bandra-Kurla Complex.

The show was inaugurated by public works department minister Chhagan Bhujbal on Thursday.

In store this year is a land exhibition spread across 10,000sqm showcasing boats in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 70 crore.

In addition to the 10 luxury yachts exhibitors showing yachts ranging from 13ft to 42ft, also on display are a variety of boats such as kayaks and speed boats, day boats, sail boats and a patrol boat. This year, the number of brands has increased from 47 last year to 78. Boating accessories, marine engines and marine toys are also on display.

On Friday, a conference on Harnessing India’s Waterfront will be held in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry to discuss how to capitalise on the country’s 7,600-km coastline and the future of the boating industry.
