Shares of Oil and Natural Gas Corp Ltd on Monday rose by over 4% in early trade on the back of impressive earnings in the April-June quarter.

After making a bullish opening, shares of the energy major further surged 4% to Rs 290.75 on the BSE.

Similarly, at the National Stock Exchange, the stock jumped 4.19% to Rs 290.65.
State-owned ONGC on Saturday reported a 48% jump in June quarter net profit to Rs 6,077.70 crore.
ONGC had posted a net profit of Rs 4,094.90 crore in the April-June period of last financial year.
The company had also said it is likely to sign a MoU with the Japan's Mitsui for a LNG project by this month.
