Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Sunday accused opposition parties of playing dirty to destabilise her government.

Addressing party workers at Goregaon, she said, "The opposition is using all tricks to defame my party. An impression is being created that we are opposed to the upper castes."
On Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi's foray into Bhatta-Parsaul villages to support farmers protesting land acquisition, Mayawati said: "It is the central government's responsibility to frame a uniform Act on land acquisition and we will raise the issue during the coming session of Parliament."
She accused the Congress and the BJP of not being serious about bringing back black money stashed overseas.
"This money has the potential to eliminate at least 50% of poverty," she added.
She appealed to the Maharashtra government to provide houses and livelihood to migrants reaching the city in search of work.
