The sadhvi, who is in Nashik Central Jail, has been suffering from ill health. Her health had deteriorated in the last few weeks with reports of her having suffered a heart attack.

“We would like the government to set up a panel of doctors including a cardiologist and a Ayurvedic doctor who can look into her health,” Sena Member of Legislative Council, Neelam Gorhe, said.

The state was non-committal and said that doctors’ reports had specified that the sadhvi had not suffered a heart attack. “The government has no problems in treating and spending money on Ajmal Kasab [26/11 accused] while the sadhvi is being neglected,” BJP legislator, Vinod Tawde, said.
