Two plumbers were arrested on Sunday for stealing diamonds worth over Rs 45 lakh from a jewellery-making unit in Andheri (East).

The robbery in Sunflower Jewellers took place in May but the owner found the diamond missing only on Friday as the unit was closed.
The investigators said even after questioning scores of people in the case, they failed to find clue. The police accessed the log book of visitors who came to the jewellery workshop in the last four months.
They also questioned the two plumbers — Dilip More (35) and Anand Kolve (31) — who had gone to the unit for maintenance work.
“They said they saw the locker keys on the table and stole the diamonds,” said Senior Inspector Pradeep Suryavanshi. The accused have spent most of the money in purchasing the household materials and also invested over Rs 1.5 lakh in a some marketing scheme.
