Police summons Jet co-pilot for threatening rape victim

She has alleged that 27-year-old Agarwal, who was released on bail a month ago, had been threatening her to withdraw her complaint.

Agarwal was arrested on May 29 from the domestic airport for allegedly raping the 22-year-old airhostess on several occasions since May 2009 on the pretext of marrying her. On June 14, the sessions court had granted the co-pilot bail on a surety of Rs 25,000 after observing that his custody was no longer required by the police.

According to the Powai police, on Friday the victim approached them and filed a complaint that Agarwal had been threatening her of dire consequences if she did not withdraw her complaint against him.

Ashok Jadhav, senior police inspector of Powai police station said that they had received the complaint. "We have summoned Agarwal for investigations on the victim's fresh complaint," said Jadhav.
