The testimony of two witnesses - the victim who lost his leg in the blast in suburban Borivili railway station and a person from Matunga railway station - was recorded today by special MCOCA Judge Y D Shinde.

On July 11, 2006, RDX laden bombs ripped the first class compartments of seven local trains on the Western Railway within a span of ten minutes killing 187 persons and injuring 800 others.

The victim of the blast told the court that on the day of the incident he was waiting for a train on platform number 1 of suburban Borivili station when explosion took place in a train passing through platform number 4. "I was sitting on a bench and was pushed up due to the impact of the blast. I was in a semi-conscious state when I was rushed to the nearby Bhagwati hospital where my leg had to be amputated," the victim said.

The other witness told the court that police had recovered pieces of iron from the train that had exploded at Matunga railway station.
