A section of journalists and activists, on Thursday, protested the inclusion of former law minister Shanti Bhushan and his son Prashant in the committee that is drafting the Lokpal Bill.

Vineet Narain, a veteran Delhi-based journalist, who led the protest said: “The inclusion of the father-son duo will compromise the integrity of the committee.”
“Irrespective of whether the charges levelled against them [of irregularities in the Uttar Pradesh government’s allotment of land at Noida to Shanti Bhushan and his other son Jayant,] are proved or not, the magnitude of the accusations alone is grounds for their removal.”
The activists will petition the Supreme Court if Bhushan is not removed as the co-chair of the committee. Jayant is fighting a case against the UP government.
