Western Railway has recorded considerable increase in freight traffic especially from the ports of Gujarat and there is more untapped potential which can be harnessed by increasing the throughput of the line serving these ports, a release said.

"The Railway has made a maiden attempt by combining two container loaded trains into one python train. The python train left from Mundra Port on May 11 for Bhildi. This will help in increasing the throughput of the section and boost the freight operations on WR and contribute substantially to the economic growth and prosperity of the region," it said.
