The relatives of Sujit Nair, who sat near the bodies of his parents Rajan and Chandralekha for four days, have taken him to their home after he was admitted to JJ Hospital for two days. HT reports

The relatives of Sujit Nair (42), who sat near the bodies of his parents Rajan (80) and Chandralekha (75) for four days, have taken him to their home after he was admitted to JJ Hospital for two days.

According to the neighbours and the police, Sujit has been suffering from schizophrenia for the past 20 years. The police said that Sujit was under medication.

After his parents died, nobody was there to give him medicines due to which his condition worsened and he couldn’t understand that his parents were dead, said the police.

“We have found around 900 anti depression tablets at their residence. Also, all the three used to take anti depressants,” said a police official on condition of anonymity.

The police have ruled out foul play and said that the couple had died due to natural cause.

“We are waiting for the chemical analysis only after which the exact cause of the death can be ascertained,” said Senior Inspector S Paithankar of Goregaon police station.
