Sanjay Dutt moves court to get back passport

The Central Bureau of Investigation, which investigated the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, said that they did not have any objection for the passport to be returned

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt moved an application, before the court of special Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act judge G A Sanap, pleading that his passport be returned. Sanjay Dutt was released on March 17 after he served a five-year jail term at Yerawada jail for being in possession of an AK-56 rifle.

CBI, which investigated the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, said that they did not have any objection for the passport to be returned. Followed by which the court has now scheduled the application for order on Tuesday.

The actor had surrendered on May 2013 for completing the remaining sentence awarded to him in the 1993 serial bomb blasts case. The apex court had upheld his conviction in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case and had reduced to five years the six-year jail term awarded to Dutt by a designated TADA court in 2006.
