School bus crushes 2-yr-old girl in Nerul

A two-year-old girl was crushed to death under a school bus on Friday in Nerul. Her five-year-old brother who was also hit by the bus is in serious condition. Police have arrested the driver of the bus, Raja Moihuddin Faqir (30). G. Mohiuddin Jeddy reports.

A two-year-old girl was crushed to death under a school bus on Friday in Nerul. Her five-year-old brother who was also hit by the bus is in serious condition. Police have arrested the driver of the bus, Raja Moihuddin Faqir (30).

The incident occurred at around 12.30 pm at Sector 23, Seawoods Darave in Nerul.

The bus belonged to Ryan International School situated in Nerul.

Witnesses said that the bus driver was driving rashly.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ashok Dudhe said, “Amina and Abdul Sheikh left their house to buy some grocery and while they were returning, they came under the bus. Amina died on the spot while Abdul was first rushed to DY Patil Hospital in Nerul and later shifted to Sion Hospital.”

“The accident was due to the negligence of Faqir whom we have arrested. We have also seized the school bus,” said Rajendra Jadhav, senior police inspector (Traffic), CBD-Belapur. The kids were resident of Priyanka Ramesh Enclave Building situated close to the accident spot.
