A primary school principal has been arrested for allegedly molesting a nine-year-old student at Badlapur on Saturday.

Vijay Bagal, police inspector, Badlapur police station said, “On Friday, the accused Chandrashekar Pandey, principal of Memorial Primary School summoned the girl into his office. He told her that the photograph on her identity card did not match her face. On the pretext of taking a closer look at the identity card, he molested the girl.”

The girl told the Lady Rector at the orphanage she lives in about the incident who brought her to the police.

The police filed a case under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code and will produce him in court tomorrow. The police are in the process of taking the statements of school employees, teachers and students.
