Political parties Shiv Sena and BJP have decided to contest the civic body poll scheduled in October together, in order to keep its dominance intact on Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation.

"We have the same seat sharing formula for the coming polls. The Sena will contest 62 seats while BJP will contest 45 out of the total 107 seats of the civic body," BJP general secretary Vinod Tawade said.
The candidates would be declared next month as the elections are likely to be scheduled in the last weeks of October, he said.
At present, Sena has 32 corporators and BJP has 16.
Raj Thackeray-led MNS may pose a threat to the saffron alliance, as the locality is Marathi populated. Also the MNS has an advantage of its two MLAs Prakash Boisar from Kalyan (West) and Ramesh Patil from Kalyan Rural.
