Raj arrived at the hospital at 1pm and spent around 45 minutes with the Sena chief in his room on the 11th floor of the hospital.

According to Sena sources, he also met the doctors on duty and inquired about the tests conducted.

Raj is said to have sat with his uncle and comforted him on his anxiety following Raj’s estranged cousin and Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray’s angioplasty that was conducted last week following complaints of chest pain.

Bal Thackeray, 85, was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday morning following complaints related to breathing and constipation.

He was shifted from the ICU on the 6th floor to a special room on the 11th floor on Wednesday morning, as his condition improved. According to sources at the hospital, Thackeray is likely to be discharged only next week.

The Sena chief is known to be suffering from chronic pulmonary obstructive disease (COPD) — a chronic lung disease which leads to difficulty in breathing and ischemic heart disease, resulting in lowered blood supply to the heart.

Meanwhile, Uddhav, who has been fixed with around five coronary medicated stents to take care of three coronary blockages, has been advised complete bed rest for a fortnight.
