Sena declares first list for Assembly polls

Shiv Sena on Monday declared the first list for the October 13 Maharashtra Assembly elections. Former Ministers Sureshdada Jain (Jalgaon city), Gulabrao Gawande (Akola east), Jaiparakash Mundada (Vasmat), Labour Union leader Vivek Pandit (Vasai), former NCP functionary Pratap Sarnaik (Ovla Majiwada) are among the prominent candidates in the list.

Former Ministers Sureshdada Jain (Jalgaon city), Gulabrao Gawande (Akola east), Jaiparakash Mundada (Vasmat), Labour Union leader Vivek Pandit (Vasai), former NCP functionary Pratap Sarnaik (Ovla Majiwada) are among the prominent candidates in the list.

BJP is expected to announce its second list today. The saffron-alliance partners reached a seat-sharing agreement recently according to which Shiv-Sena will contest 169 seats and BJP 119 seats in the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly.
