An additional session court in Nagpur on Thursday granted an ad-interim anticipatory bail to the controversial Shiv Sena MLA, Harshwardhan Jadhav for allegedly slapping a police officer entrusted with protecting party chief Uddhav Thackeray.

The Aurangabad MLA allegedly slapped a police inspector, Parag Jadhav, posted outside the Sena chief's room in a Nagpur hotel on Wednesday evening.
At the hotel, inspector Parag Jadhav of the special protection unit, Nashik, allegedly prevented the MLA from meeting Thackeray.
An enraged Harshwardhan then reportedly thrashed the police inspector.
Parag later went to the Sonegaon police station and lodged a formal complaint against the Sena legislator.
The Sonegaon police then booked Harshwardhan under sections 353 and 323 of the Indian Penal Code.
The additional session court gave an ad-interim anticipatory bail to the Sena MLA till December 29. After hearing both the sides on December 29, the court would decide whether an anticipatory bail be granted to the MLA or not.
The Aurangabad MLA was earlier with the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and has been involved in similar cases earlier too.
