A group of around 20 Shiv Sena activists allegedly attacked a building on Palm Beach Road on Thursday. Vanashree Cooperative housing society has been in the news recently as sections of the media alleged a land scam involving IAS and IPS officers.

At about 1.30 pm, a group of Shiv Sainiks gathered outside the society to protest against the alleged land scam. The guard on duty, Vasant Adhav, 50, said immediately locked the gate.
Shiv Sena Shahar Pramukh, Vijay Mane, who was part of the group, said: “At a time when people do not have houses to live in, some officials have signed papers and allowed illegal constructions to come up. We may go to the CIDCO office on December 13 and gherao authorities.”
Rafique Baghban, senior police inspector of NRI police station, said: “We do not have any information about such an attack taking place.”
