Senior citizen held for sodomising minor

The Khar police have registered a case against a senior citizen for allegedly sodomising a nine-year-old boy a week ago. No arrests have been made in the case so far.

The accused, who has been identified as Datta Shankar Koli, 65, sodomised the boy a week ago after luring him with eatables when he found the boy alone in the area.

Koli then took the boy to his house and had unnatural sex with him, said the Khar police. The victim and Koli both live in a slum at Khar Danda.

On Tuesday, after the minor narrated the incident to his mother, a complaint was lodged with the police. When Koli found out about the police complain and the case that was filed against him, he fled.

“We have registered a case against Koli for having unnatural sex with the minor. We are on the lookout for him as he is currently absconding,” said Mangesh Pote, senior inspector, Khar police. A case was registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 377 (having carnal intercourse against the order of nature).
