Slain gangster’s home had 12 CCTVs put up

Key Chhota Shakeel aide, Imran Jhingada, who was gunned down in a police encounter last week along with an accomplice, had installed at least 12 closed-circuit television cameras around his Jogeshwari home to stay a step ahead of the police.

Jhingada, who has 13 cases of serious offences registered against him, was a front man of Shakeel in India and was
responsible for carrying out his illegal activities in India.

Crime Branch sources said the fact came to light when a police team searched his home on getting inputs that arms were hidden at Jhingada’a home.

Country-made revolvers were among the arms seized from his home, sources add.

The police also found at least 12 closed circuit cameras installed at various points in their huge joint family home,
comprising seven to eight huts in the densely populated Idgah Maidan area in Jogeshwari.

Locals gave the gangster’s family information about police’s movements in the area.

The police, during a probe, learnt that CCTVs were placed over a year ago, after deceased Police Inspector Vijay Salaskar raided his home.
