Smooth sailing for city CAT aspirants

But students, who were earlier sent back from CAT centres, are yet to receive new exam dates. On the other hand, in an obvious goof up, some who have already taken the test are receiving new dates.

Mumbai’s 10 centres functioned like they ought to have since Day 1, and students heaved a sign of relief.

Over the last three days more than 7,000 aspirants were unable to give the test because of a virus that attacked the system across the country.

Vibhusha Page was glad that she could give her exam hassle free at Saraswati College in Navi Mumbai on Monday.

But on Tuesday she got an SMS stating that her exam is on December 2 at the same centre.

“I can’t express what I am going through right now. It looks like I have to take the exam all over again because my earlier data has probably not been stored in the main server,” said the final year commerce student.

“The IIMs have washed their hands of all responsibility and put up a notice on the website blaming Prometric for everything. People have applied to the IIMs and not Prometric,” he added.
