Vohra, who is believed to be a stockbroker, was having a relationship with Babajee for the last few months. The constant fights in the relationship had led Viveka into depression, which also made her consume sleeping pills and anti-depression tablets on a regular basis, the police officials further added.

A police officer, who broke open into Viveka’s house said, “The entire house was smelling of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) when I entered. She had left the gas open.” In fact, it was this smell coming out from her house that had cautioned neighbours who tried to make contact with Viveka in vain, and later called the fire brigade and police officials.

“Initial examination of her body by medical and forensic experts reveals that she had committed suicide nearly eight hours before we got her body down,” said the officer. And she had smoked at least 30 cigarettes during the course of the day.

While Viveka’s viscera sample has been preserved and sent to the forensic laboratory, police officials have started the hunt to track down Gautam Vohra, who stays at Napean Sea Road.

Rohit Jugraj, who had a brief relationship with Viveka, told police officials that the model would never take this extreme step unless she was under tremendous mental trauma. Jugraj told Hindustan Times that he still could not believe that Viveka was dead.
