The state government has decided to appoint a high-level committee to coordinate with Singapore, which has expressed interest in investing in the state infrastructure.

The decision was taken after a delegation headed by former prime minister of Singapore, Goh Chok Tong, on Friday, made a mutual agreement to work closely with chief minister Prithviraj Chavan. The delegation was given a lowdown on different projects, issues of basic infrastructure development, affordable housing, education, tourism, and airport development.
The committee comprising officials from both sides will assist in identifying the sectors which need investment and how Singaporean firms could help.
The team elaborately discussed about the tourism opportunities considering the 720-km coastline along the state, forts, tiger project in forests,” said Chavan.
