Strike on: Nerul school teachers

Teachers of St Xavier’s School in Nerul will go on strike from Tuesday to protest against the management’s failure to pay them as per the 6th Pay Commission.

The teachers had been corresponding with the management on the issue since June, and had given them time till Monday to resolve the matter. “We did not hear from the management on Monday so we will go ahead... with the strike,” said Pratima Sharma, a teacher.

On Monday, the teachers approached the department of education office in Thane to put forth their grievances. “I have requested the education department to take a decision,” said Manisha Andhansare, the principal. “We are hopeful for a positive response.” Bhavya Dore
