Students get insight into new career options

The Campus Calling session organised by Hindustan Times in association with Young Buzz kicked off its second week with more than 870 students and parents in attendance.

The three-hour session, which was held at Bhaidas Sabhagriha in Vile Parle, had counsellors from Young Buzz giving students an insight into a range of careers (in the arts, science and commerce fields).

Asha Bhagtiani, who had come for the session said, “I have just appeared for SSC, and I was quite confused about which field to get into.” Her father, Vashdev Bhagtiani added, “This is a relief for my daughter. It's made things clearer and simpler.”

The counsellors enumerated not only the careers available after school level, but also gave a brief explanation about what kind of work and personality skills each profession would require.

“Thanks to the session, I got to understand the scope of so many more upcoming careers and even the best colleges to apply to,” said Smruti Khara, a parent.

The counseling session was followed by a question answer round. The career counselling session is scheduled for two venues today, from 10 am to 1 pm at BN Vaidya Sabhagriha, Dadar (East), and Prabodhankar Thackeray Hall, Borivli (West).
