Subject option only if school has facilities

A school can only offer its Class 10 students the option of appearing for an exam for an additional subject that the school has the necessary infrastructure for, a recent circular from the Central Board of Secondary Education board has said.

A school can only offer its Class 10 students the option of appearing for an exam for an additional subject that the school has the necessary infrastructure for, a recent circular from the Central Board of Secondary Education board has said.

Class 10 students appear for exams in five subjects, but can appear for an exam in an additional sixth sixth subject, if they wish to.

“A school can only offer only those subjects for which the school has the necessary infrastructure — a qualified teacher and other facilities such as a laboratory etc and the candidate must be taught the complete course…”, states the circular dated December 6.
