Tatkal waitlisted passengers to get confirmation on priority

If you are booking Tatkal tickets, the chances of them getting confirmed are high, as from now on the Tatkal waitlist will be given preference in additional coaches added to long distance trains.

Following directions by the Railway Board, the Western Railway will now give priority to Tatkal waitlisted passengers in the augmented coaches. The coaches will be added to long distances trains depending on the waitlist.

"The tatkal waitlist is not very long and normal waiting passenger will get reservations, once this list is taken care of. This list will be renewed every day and accordingly coaches will be added to long-distance trains," said C David, Western Railway PRO.

On Monday, WR will be attaching 29 extra coaches to various long distances trains leaving on June 11.

Of these, 12 extra coaches will be added to trains originating from Mumbai zone, that is Mumbai Central and Bandra Terminus.
