Terror suspects’ photos at Lalbaugcha Raja pandal too small to be noticed

The police, who are on a desperate hunt for the two terrorists following an Intelligence Bureau alert, have distributed and put up their photos at all Ganesh pandals as well as others places that see public gatherings. Though the duo — Kalimuddin Khan alias Rameshwar Pandit and Hafij Sarif — were last seen at Lalbaug, at the city’s most famous pandal, the photos have been put up in a corner high above the ground next to the security check counters.

Making it unnoticeable is also the fact that the photos don’t face the public, but have been put up on the side.

“The position of the photos is such that it is impossible to spot when we queue up at the security check counters.
Moreover, the photo size is small and difficult to spot,” said Neeta Gupta, a visitor at the pandal.

“I did not even see the photos,” said Shikha Surve, another devotee who visited the pandal on Monday.

Sudhir Salvi, an organiser of the pandal, said the managing committee selected the spots where the photos have been put up. “If they are not visible to the public, we will change the position and increase the size as well,” Salvi said. “Our motive is to alert the public about the terror suspects and we will do everything to ensure that.”
