Transport commissioner asks RTO to submit report

Based on the report, the transport authorities will decide what action would be taken against the school bus contractors. A special drive to inspect school buses is also likely.

Parmar met with a fatal accident on Wednesday, as he stuck his head out of the school bus and his forehead hit a metal advertisement board (4feet x 2feet) attached to a lamppost at a low height.

After the report is submitted, the TC office will decide on the action to be taken on the loopholes mentioned in the report and whether a special drive is needed to inspect school buses. “Altogether, 3 reports would be submitted factual accidental report, inspection of vehicle report and police first information report (FIR). On the basis of these reports, action will be taken on the negligence and we will decide on whether conducting special drive or not,” said SV Thakur, Additional TC.

To this the transport authority replied that the school bus policy and security specifications are available online on the state government website. “The policy security specification has appeared in government gazette and once it is published in it, then it’s declared for all. The department need not inform all school, they should follow it on their own,” added Thakur.

When contacted, M Jadhav Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Tardeo refused to comment on the school busy accident and their action.
