The MIDC police, on Thursday, arrested 12 persons, including three minors, in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Ansh Agarwal.

Agarwal was murdered on Tuesday night after he had a fight with one of the accused over an objectionable text message allegedly sent by the latter to Agarwal’s friend a month ago.
“After the accused were produced before a metropolitan court on Thursday afternoon, nine of them were remanded in police custody till April 25, while three others, being minors, have been sent to juvenile homes,” said senior inspector Suresh Hujband, MIDC police station.
The police said that the accused and deceased, although from different colleges, studied at the same coaching classes. They have a past history of arguments and ego-tussles.
“We are looking for a few more youths who are suspected to be involved in the crime. As of now, a case of murder and rioting has been registered against the arrested accused,” said Hujband.
According to the police, Agarwal was murdered at around 10.45pm on Tuesday, near MIDC in Andheri (East).
