Doctors treating Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray said he is fine and contradicted newspaper reports that indicated he was unwell.
Thackeray underwent an angiography procedure at the hospital on Wednesday to rule out of any restenosis (blockage) in his heart vessels.
The doctor placed around nine stents to de-block his heart vessels. There is speculation that Thackeray’s angiography report indicated a need for another angioplasty, something the doctors refuted.
“There is no new blockage and the flow (of blood) where the stents were placed is also good,” said Dr Samuel Mathew Kalarickal, cardiologist at Lilavati Hospital, Bandra. “His condition is absolutely normal. He can do all his regular chores.”
Doctors said Thackeray will need to control his diet and exercise regularly.
