“Apart from sharing my work with people, my aim is to promote a social cause. The proceeds from the exhibition will go to the farmers in the suicide belt of Maharashtra,” says Thackeray, as he shuffles through his Ipad, which has hundreds of photographs.

According to Thackeray, the highlight of the exhibition is infrared photography -- where photographs have been given effects in pink and white colours. The idea of experimenting with the technique came to Thackeray’s mind when he was on compulsory bedrest after his angioplasty.

“I was told to stay away from work, so I started looking up on the infrared technique. I loved the effect it has on trees at different temperatures,” said Thackeray, talking about his photos of the Afghan church and the civic body headquarters.

Thackeray said the exhibition will remind him of his father, the late Bal Thackeray, who was the chief guest for his previous exhibitions on wildlife, aerial photography on forts and the Warkaris. “I will miss him terribly. His face was my favourite subject ,” he says.

Next on agenda is a photography website. “I also plan to capturing the volcanic regions, Antarctic region, and Mount Everest, depending on the time I get,” he says.
