Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray, who underwent a successful angioplasty at the suburban Lilavati hospital on Friday, is likely to get a discharge on Monday morning.

According to hospital sources, while the team of doctors, including cardiologist Samuel Mathew who conducted the surgery, had given him a go ahead on Sunday, the family insisted on increasing the stay by one day.
“He is doing very well and looked fit. Doctors are very happy with his recovery. He might get a discharge on Monday,” said Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, after visiting Thackeray.
Thackeray was operated upon to fix five stents into three coronary blockages.
Raj Thackeray, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief and Thackeray’s estranged cousin who was by his side on Friday, did not visit Thackeray on Sunday. According to MNS sources, he was down with viral fever.
