Sub-inspector Reshma B Mulani told SS Patil, Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), “Similar complaints were received against the man when he was employed at schools in Thane and Matunga. He was forced to resign from the schools because of these charges.”

Mulani added that the locations of the victim and accused as determined by their mobile phone records also matched the information in the complaint.

The 14-year-old girl had alleged that the vice-principal had called her to his cabin after school hours on January 2 and misbehaved with her after locking the door.

Refuting charges that the vice-principal had similar charges against him in the past, his lawyer said, “The information is incorrect. In fact, he was employed at only one school before this.”
