Vora, who is in judicial custody for helping Vijay Palande escape police custody, had moved a bail plea before the magistrate court on April 23. However, Vora’s advocate Rajendra Solankar alleged that as the application was not heard and was delayed, they approached the sessions court.

On Thursday, Solankar alleged that the police were shielding the main accused, who had actually helped Palande to escape. “Vora is being made a scapegoat and framed for the reasons best known to them,” Solankar argued.

Solankar further contended that the hearing before the magistrate court had been unnecessarily delayed.

However, public prosecutor Nilima Kasture objected and contended that as the bail plea was pending before the magistrate court, the sessions court could not hear the application.

The court considered the objections raised by Kasture and asked Solankar to withdraw his bail plea from the magistrate court and scheduled the next hearing on Friday.

Meanwhile, the bail plea of Vora along with the application of the police seeking police custody of Vora filed before the magistrate court is also scheduled on Friday.
