The party has put up its aims and objectives and the context in which it was established in 1966 along with a large number of sepia-tinted images on its website www.shivsena.org.

The website--the content is only in Marathi--also features the first speech of Sena chief Bal Thackeray at Shivaji Park after the party was formed.

Sources said the idea is to attract the younger generation. “The new generation needs to know how and why the party was formed and what has it done,” a party leader said. “The website has also a YouTube link with videos of old speeches and popular party activities.”

The website also lists its recent blood donation drive, which has created a record, as one of its major social achievements. The party has also invited citizens to call its help line with complaints, if any.

The website also lists the achievements of the Sena when the saffron alliance was in power in Maharashtra.
