Currently, both Indrani Malkani and Anita Garware claim that they hold the post of the secretary of the association. So, both the groups held the annual general body meeting (AGM) – to elect the executive committee members -- separately on Sunday.

The association has initiated several citizen-civic partnership projects in the past. One of them being Brand Malabar, a concept conceived by the residents and civic body to give the area a distinct identity. Ham Radio is another project wherein the residents get the radio-transmitted messages during a crisis.

Pramod Mandrekar, councillor, Malabar Hill, said: “The dispute won’t affect the projects as they are run and funded by the corporation.”

Following the AGM, Malkani called for the executive committee meeting. “Four executive committee members have been elected in the AGM. The committee will now vote for office-bearers,” confirmed Malkani.

Anita Garware, another founder member, said, “Those who don’t hold any post cannot call for meeting.”
