The state BJP on Tuesday claimed it would launch a state-wide agitation to protest against the government’s move to hike power tariff in the state.

“This price hike is an attempt to hide the mismanagement and rampant corruption in power companies and an easy way to recover losses, caused by their incompetence, from the public," said Eknath Khadse, leader of the Opposition.

Khadse claimed that the party will hold protest meetings across the state to oppose the move.
The recent rate hike has allowed the BJP to target deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, who also holds the energy portfolio.
Senior BJP leader, Gopinath Munde, had openly attacked Pawar for the dismal power shortage in the state.
