Jaiswal’s husband Virendra Jaiswal, 32, said: “We stay at Ambivli village. Neetu had registered her name at Rukminibai Hospital. When she went into labour in the morning, I took her to the hospital where the doctor asked me to take her to Sion hospital as her condition was critical and she needed better facilities.”

Virendra immediately reached Kalyan railway station with his wife. “We boarded a CST-bound train that was yet to leave the station when her pain aggravated and she delivered a baby boy. We entrust doctors with the safety of our loved ones. But in the eleventh hour, they gave us excuses such as unavailability of blood or bed. If my wife’s condition was critical, how she deliver normally on a train?” When this correspondent tried to contact Rukminibai Hospital, authorities denied knowing about the incident.
