Youth help spread AIDS awareness

An NGO, Navjeevan, in collaboration with the Women and Child Welfare Department, raised banners to create awareness on HIV/AIDS on Sunday.

An NGO, Navjeevan, in collaboration with the Women and Child Welfare Department, raised banners to create awareness on HIV/AIDS on Sunday.

Navjeevan works for the underprivileged children and women.

The rally, which included at least 150 youths from Kalyan Mar Thoma Centre, focused on the prevention aspect like caring the HIV positive persons, to spread the message ‘God’s love in action’.

Director of Navjeevan, Rev. Mathew Philip, and the associate director, Mathew Samuel, led the rally.

Renuka Chaudhry, probation officer of the Women and Child Welfare Department, Thane and local corporator Sanjay Patil also participated in the rally.

At different points, students from Nirmala Niketan performed street plays focusing on the awareness of HIV/AIDS.
