Adele’s Oscar-winning song Skyfall has been voted the greatest James Bond theme song, leaving Sam Smith’s Writing’s on the Wall at number 5.

The British pop star scored a huge hit with the title track from 2012 movie Skyfall, winning her an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a BRIT Award.

Smith became the latest artist to take on the job of recording a Bond theme, providing Writing’s on the Wall for this year’s Spectre, but it has failed to match the popularity of Adele’s song in a public vote.

Skyfall topped the poll, put together by bosses at Britain’s ITV network to find Britain’s best-loved Bond theme, followed by Paul MCCartney & Wings’ Live and Let Die at number two.
Shirley Bassey claimed the third and fourth spot with her two 007 hits Goldfinger and Diamonds are Forever respectively, and Smith’s track rounded out the top five.
