Eight Indian bands to open for Metallica

Alongside artistes Edward Maya, Roger Sanchez, heavy metal band Metallica and international pop phenomenon Lady Gaga, eight Indian amateur bands will get to share the spotlight at the forthcoming F1 weekend extravaganza at the end of October.

Talenthouse India, an online platform that facilitates creative collaborations, is currently on the lookout for eight such bands that will get to open for Metallica on October 28. “Each will get a chance to perform a song. We have alloted time for about five tracks, depending on shortlists and quality. They will go on stage just before Metallica does,” says the spokesperson from Talenthouse India, adding that they have already received over 420 entries. “We even saw three international entries, but the competition is only for Indian bands.”

Those interested are required to upload a five-minute video performance of an original song on the site by Monday, September 26. “We are looking at original entries from the heavy metal and alternate rock categories. They will also be judged on the basis of the quality of videos submitted,” adds the spokesperson. Although the names on the judging panel are yet to be revealed, it consists of one official each from Talenthouse, MTV and the F1 Rocks Management Team.
